This ministry provides spiritual support to the sick and homebound members of St. Bonaventure. In addition to sharing Holy Communion and prayers, the visits allow our parish community to reach out in the name of Christ and bring His love to those unable to participate fully in parish life.
Are you or a loved one unable to join us in person for Sunday Mass due to age, illness, impairment, or other challenges? We miss you! St. Bonaventure will schedule a lay minster for pastoral visits, either short-term or long-term.
For more information or to request visits, please contact the Homebound Ministry through the visit request form on this page, call us at (925) 276-9180, or email us at StBCommunion@gmail.com.
Are you looking for a way to make your presence in our parish more meaningful? Would you like to share and experience God’s grace in a very powerful way?
The Ministry to the Sick and Homebound needs more ministers to serve those in our parish who are not able to join us at Mass. This truly is an opportunity to become the hands and feet of Our Lord!
Training and support will be provided. Please pray about this opportunity and contact us at StBCommunion@gmail.com or (925) 276-9180, or click HERE for an online sign-up form.

In addition to visiting and bringing Communion, we also need volunteers to help with responding to requests and scheduling and sending out lay ministers. We sometimes forget that administration is a spiritual gift! Share your gift with those who are sick and homebound.
Are you a family member or friend who is bringing Communion to a loved one? We are here for you too! Please let us know how we can help. You are not on your own. Maybe it might be helpful for one of our ministers to rotate through on weeks when you are not available. Maybe you're wondering if you're doing it "right" or have other questions we can answer. Or maybe you just need support along the way. Please reach out by phone or email, or feel free to use the form on this page and just explain how we can help. Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained laypeople. St. Bonaventure can schedule priests for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick or the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We also offer pastoral counseling by appointment, over the phone or by videocall. Please call the parish office at (925) 672-5800 to make an appointment.
