We are pleased to announce that Bishop Michael Barber has appointed Fr. Lawrence D'Anjou to be the new pastor of the St. Bonaventure Catholic Community, effective April 2, 2020.
Fr. Lawrence was born in Oakland in 1957. He attended Catholic school at St. Cyril in Oakland through 6th grade. Fr. Lawrence studied Business Administration, obtaining a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration before discerning a priestly vocation and entering St. Patrick’s Seminary in 1994. After spending his seminary year at St. Bonaventure, he was ordained a priest in May 2000 and was assigned to Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in Fremont as Parochial Vicar. In 2003 he was named Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Oakland. In November 2011 he was named Parochial Administrator of St. Raymond Parish in Dublin and on November 30, 2014, he was installed as Pastor of St. Raymond Parish by Bishop Barber.
Please join us in offering Father Lawrence our love, prayers, and support in his new role. We are also thrilled that Father Oscar is remaining at this time as parochial vicar, and thank him for his amazing work during this time of transition.
We will keep you updated as we learn more details about Father Lawrence's arrival.
