Las Posadas is a beautiful tradition faithfully passed on from one generation to the next in Hispanic families. This devotion is a reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph asking for lodging in Bethlehem. Several times Joseph asks for shelter for his family and several times he is refused, until the owner of a stable recognizes the couple as holy pilgrims and bearers of salvation, and lets them in.
Join us on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Church for the St. Bonaventure Las Posadas. The children in the Sunday morning Spanish Faith Formation classes will be reenacting the journey of Mary and Joseph. Traditional Las Posadas hymns will be sung as we move from “inn” to “inn” before the Holy Family reaches the stable where Jesus is born.
