Praying for Creation: Tuesday, September 1 @ 7:30pm
Pope Francis recently proclaimed September 1st as the Day of Prayer for Creation, as the Orthodox Church has done since 1989, to "draw from our rich spiritual heritage the reasons which we feed our passion for the care of creation. We invite you to join us in prayer at a simple service taking place in the Church.
Senior Information Faire
Saturday, September 19; 10am-Noon
Representatives from over 20 local agencies providing a wide range of services to seniors and their families will be present to share information and answer questions in the Large Hall.
Public Showing of Pope Francis’ U.S. Visit
Thursday, Sept 24 & Friday, Sept 25 @ 1:00pm
During Pope Francis’ upcoming visit, we will be hosting a public showing of two of the historic events taking place in Clasroom A-2. On Thursday, September 24, at 1:00pm, we will show Pope Francis’ Address to the Joint Session of the United States Congress. On Friday, September 25, also at 1:00pm, we will show PopeFrancis’ Visit to the United Nations and Address to the united Nations General Assembly. Both showings will be followed by a brief discussion. We invite you to bring a “brown bag” lunch for yourself. The parish will provide beverages and a light dessert. Both of these events will be shown on a “tape delay” since they take place live very early in the morning. Please join us as we witness Pope Francis’ historic visit together!
Blessing of the Animals: Saturday, October 3 @ 10:00am
To honor the upcoming feast of St. Francis of Assisi, we will have our annual the Blessing of the Animals on the lawn area behind the Ministry Center. All of your animal friends are welcome, whether they have 4 legs, fins, wings, or no legs. We ask that animals be either caged or leashed.
