Create one-on-one matches between caring volunteers and frail, isolated, and/or disabled seniors over the age of 60 enabling them to stay in their homes, and remain independent, as long as safely possibly by providing free non-medical in-home assistance. Volunteers’ interests are matched with seniors’ needs in the following areas of service: transportation and escort services, shopping and errands, friendly visiting, friendly calling, respite care, minor home repairs and yard work, light household tasks, light meal preparation; letter writing and reading assistance. Time commitment is 1 to 3 hours once a week at a time convenient to the volunteer and senior. An all-day training is necessary. Call Caring Hands office for training schedule.
