This is the process for adults wishing to become a member of the Catholic Church. Unbaptized adults gradually and through steps and rituals prepare to receive the initiation sacraments of baptism, confirmation and first eucharist. Adults baptized in other Christian church communities prepare as appropriate to make a profession of faith and be received into the Catholic Church and to receive the sacraments of confirmation and first eucharist.
This process is also appropriate for baptized Catholic adults who wish to complete their sacramental initiation by receiving the sacraments of confirmation AND first eucharist.
This ministry is in need of sponsors who have completed their own sacramental initiation and are willing to walk with the candidates through their process and be a parish companion in faith.

- Thursday mornings following the 9:00 AM Mass until 11:15 AM.

Twice a year (more often as individuals may need) a process is provided for adult Catholics who have been away from participation for awhile and want to explore the Church today and their belonging within it. The process is flexible to meet the needs and issues of each particular group. This is a safe atmosphere to discuss Church issues and personal growth, as well as participation options. This is a preparation process for adults who have been baptized and received first communion in the Catholic Church and who now wish to complete their initiation by celebrating the sacrament of confirmation. Once each year the bishop of Oakland celebrates confirmation for Catholic adults in this diocese. Parish preparation sessions are scheduled before that ceremony. Contact at 672-3899.
