FORWARD IN FAITH, COMPLETING OUR JOURNEY: CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN

For a number of years, many of you have given and continue to give to the future of our parish campus. For over two years we have been without classrooms. We are now seeing the fruits of our efforts and sacrifices. Thank you for your generosity.
 
But the amount of time that it has taken to get us to this point, can leave us a bit fuzzy about what we are actually doing. As a reminder, we are providing this graphic that illustrates an overview of the construction plan.
 
What is included in the new construction?

• Additional Parking will be on the North side of our Parish Hall and additional accessible parking is being added on the southern side of the church entrance. We are not making any changes to the open field on the south of the church.

• A landscaped and grass area will be added on the southern side of the Education Center. This space was originally designed as a playground when we were planning a school. We could not remove the landscape/open space from the design when we decided not to open a school. It would have required starting the City Review process from the start, setting us back at least a year. Instead, we re-designed the area with space for a labyrinth, meditation garden and lawn area.

• The Education Center is comprised of meeting room buildings and restroom facilities constructed around a welcoming courtyard. The Center includes: 8 classrooms with operable partitions; two conference rooms, and an office and multi-service meeting area.

• The project also includes a complete repaving of the parking lots, installation of new lighting throughout the property, installation of a water line that will run from Clayton Road through our property to Indiana Drive (required by Contra Costa Water District), new sewer lines and other required utilities.
